FAQs – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Looking for a quick answer? You’ve come to the right place. Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive from our customers and visitors.
Need more immediate assistance? Please contact us at info@kaphagroup.com

GENERAL

I have a question about a piece on Kapha Gallery’s website, what should I do? How can I get more information about a painting or an artist?

We’re here to help! If you have questions, you can reach us during business hours Monday through Friday from 9am-6pm (EST) at (561) 376-2392 or send us an email at info@kaphagroup.com and you’ll receive our response within 1 to 3 days.

I like to see things in person, do you have a physical location?

We do not currently operate a physical gallery. However, we sometimes participate in art shows in the Florida Gold Coast area. If you’d like to be informed about our next event, please sign-up for our newsletter HERE or you can see our upcoming events HERE and watch our social media for announcements about upcoming events.

Why do some artworks have pricing information listed while others do not?

Pricing information of our pieces is usually listed online. Sometimes, for pieces from master artists, we may choose to share pricing information only upon request. For final pricing, please place an inquiry on the artwork.

Are all of your paintings original works of art?

Yes. All the artwork displayed in our “Paintings” section are originals. We have a separate “Prints” section for limited editions and open edition prints.

How can I ensure authenticity of artworks?

We can assist in providing you with documentation pertaining to an artwork’s authenticity. This includes certificates of authenticity, documentation from an artist’s studio, images of signatures and stamps that may be present on the piece, and occasionally a complete provenance history of the art. That said, such documentation might be difficult to obtain for some works due to the very informal nature of the art market in Haiti and in the Caribbean in general.

Do you provide proof of authenticity?

For many of our pieces we’ll be happy to include a Certificate of Authenticity with your shipment. Usually upon request.

Are all your paintings displayed on the website? Can I request a painting by a specific artist or about a specific scene?

Most of our paintings are displayed on the website. As we regularly receive new pieces, our inventory is constantly changing. Please browse our gallery often. If you are looking for a specific type of painting by a particular artist, please contact us by e-mail at info@kaphagroup.com and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

How do you package the paintings for shipment?

All canvas paintings are rolled-up and shipped in a rigid tube. Board and canvas board paintings are wrapped, and then packaged inside a box.

What does “Limited Edition” and “Open Edition” mean?

Some artworks on Kapha Gallery, listed under “Prints”, will be labeled as either “Limited Edition” or “Open Edition”. With “Limited Edition”, the artist restricts the total amount of prints produced in the edition, these artworks are produced in a set limited quantity. “Open Edition” pieces are not limited in quantity and can be reproduced indefinitely. In both cases, every artwork in the edition is identical. Limited edition works are generally more valuable because of the limited number available. When an artwork is a print, it will be clearly stated in the description.

What type of artwork do you exhibit?

Kapha Gallery exhibits original art created by emerging and established artists from across the world. We mostly display two-dimensional and three-dimensional mediums. We also offer a selection of Limited Edition and Open Edition prints.

Are all your paintings framed or stretched?

Our paintings are sold in a variety of ways. Many of our paintings are unstretched and unframed and they will be shipped that way. This gives you the option to select a frame that best suits your style and décor. Our unframed paintings are usually shipped rolled-up in a rigid mailing tube. For those who prefer to receive their artwork ready to hang, we offer a wide selection of beautifully framed pieces. When a painting is framed or stretched, it will be stated in the description, and we’ll usually also display a picture of the framed piece. When a painting is on hardboard it will be listed as such is the description. Framed and stretched paintings will be shipped as such in an appropriate picture shipping box. Further, we are also happy to assist you with framing a piece. Please contact us at orders@kaphagroup.com for more information.

Pre-Framed paintings.

When we list a painting already framed, we will choose a frame that we find best complements the piece. We often use a variety of simple gold or black or neutral frames. We will generally also display the painting framed. The price of the painting includes the frame.

Will my artwork arrive ready to hang?

In the description of a piece, we usually list details pertaining to the specific artwork and if there is any special packing method offered. In the artwork description section, the terms below will indicate how an artwork will be packaged for shipping:

  • Stretched canvas – Stretched or stretch canvas refers to a standard canvas painting wrapped around a wooden frame known as “stretcher-bars”. These works will arrive flat and are ready to hang. Note that there is no outside frame around the piece.
  • Rolled canvas – the painted-on canvas pieces will be shipped rolled in a rigid tube. Many artworks will be shipped rolled. It is also far less expensive to ship works rolled.
  • Gallery Wrapped Canvas – Stretched or stretch canvas refers to a standard canvas painting wrapped around a wooden frame known as “stretcher-bars”. These works will arrive flat and are ready to hang. Note that there is no outside frame around the piece.
  • Large /Oversized Artwork – Very large works are shipped rolled whenever possible and this will typically be indicated in the artwork description.
